Name: SAP Heritage Management Guidelines

Within the Sydney Diocese, there are many heritage-listed properties including churches, residences, rectories, cemeteries, church halls and other buildings. Together these historic places are part of the legacy and heritage of the Anglican Church in Australia and are used by not just the Church community, but also local communities for all manner of reasons.
The Sydney Anglican Property Heritage Management Guidelines aim to provide practical guidance around the conservation and management of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney’s heritage-listed properties. They provide answers to some common questions such as: What are the different heritage values? What is a CMP? What approvals do I need? Where can I find help?
The Guidelines have been prepared to support parishes in conserving, promoting, and utilising their heritage assets for ministry and evangelism.
SAP’s objective for heritage listed buildings is to ensure they remain integral to parish life, both as functional spaces for ministry and as symbols of historical and cultural significance.
